Chief Operating Officer
Matthew joined the Deague Group in 2002 and has been its Chief Operating Officer since 2011. He is directly responsible for the Art Series Hotel Group, our six commercial service businesses and our central Marketing, Sales, HR and IT teams. Matthew also has operational oversight and provides support to the Deague Group’s Legal and Finance teams.
The scale and diversity of the Group’s extensive range of businesses presents exciting challenges and requires Matthew to maintain a clear and constant focus on performance.
Supported by his team, he drives the Group’s vision, strategy, high performance culture, business development, financials and innovation. He also provides strategic input to the Board to ensure our leadership stays aligned to our vision, strategy and objectives. In addition to focusing on new business and service innovation, Matthew inspires and mentors our Managers to deliver strategic and accountable leadership throughout the Group.
Matthew graduated from Harvard Business School (GMP) in 2008 and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) in 2014.
General Manager, Commercial Operations
Tim joined us in 2008 with a focus on IT and telecommunications. He is responsible for the strategic and operational outcomes of the Deague Groups’s Car Parking, Facilities Management, Group IT and Telecommunications companies and divisions.
With over 15 years’ experience in ICT, and 10 years in management in education and corporate environments, Tim is heavily involved with all facets of technology across APG including the construction and development arm and the Art Series Hotel Group. As General Manager for our commercial area since 2012, Tim ensures all areas of the business are using technology to optimise efficiency, customer satisfaction and profitability.
Currently studying an MBA, Tim’s vision is to take the Deague Group’s telecommunications business national, and provide an industry-leading voice and unified communications platform to the direct and wholesale markets.
Group Director of Sales & Marketing – Art Series Hotel Group
Ryan is the Group Director of Sales and Marketing for the Art Series Hotel Group. He leads an energetic, ambitious sales and marketing team that has gained industry-wide respect for its unique and innovative approach.
Ryan’s diverse range of skills covers account management, sponsorship management, branding, and direct marketing. He also has a strong background in all market segments — corporate, conference and events, promotions, online, and international wholesale. He was previously Associate Director of Sales at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, and at Stamford Plaza Melbourne as Reservations and Yield Manager and Sales Manager – International.
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) and is currently studying his Master of Business, Marketing.
General Manager – Art Series Hotel Group
As General Manager for The Olsen, Nick is responsible for the hotel’s overall management and operations, while assisting the team to deliver high-quality customer service, taking the brand to market, and meeting the company’s goals and objectives.
Nick’s previous roles include Executive Assistant Manager at The Olsen Hotel, Front Office Manager at Mirvac Hotels and Resorts, and Duty Manager at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc.
Nick holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Tourism and Travel Services Marketing Operations from Ballarat University.
