A family business

We are very proud to be a tight-knit family business, driven by solid values. This proud history stretches back to W H Deague’s arrival from England in 1867. He quickly established himself as Melbourne’s pre-eminent builder, and five generations have followed in his footsteps as master builders, cementing the Deague family as integral to the history of Australian property development. Today, led by patriarch David and sons, William and Jonathan, the company continues to grow and prosper with in a culture of creativity and excellence.

Deague Group specialises in Melbourne commercial and boutique hotel property development. David holds a commercial building licence and takes great pride in being a hands-on founder of the company. Over the years he has built strong relationships with sub-contractors and trusted suppliers, many of whom have worked with the company for 30 years or more.

Upholding the Deague tradition, David is joined by sons William (Chief Executive Officer) and Jonathan (Managing Director), who continue to build on 150 years of passion and commitment to property development and construction.
